Privacy Policy

checkb.tech is an internal verification support tool built for BTEC assessors and internal verifiers. It is operated by an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. Contact: privacy@checkb.tech

When you create an account, we collect: • Your work email address • Your school or college name • Your selected role (Internal Verifier or School Admin) When you upload scripts or batches, we process: • The text content of uploaded assignments (for AI-assisted criteria matching) • Student reference identifiers you associate with scripts We do not collect names of students unless you include them in uploaded files. We do not collect payment information.

Your account data is used solely to: • Authenticate your session • Configure your dashboard with the correct BTEC unit criteria • Associate your verification log with your centre Uploaded files are stored in S3-compatible object storage (Tigris). The extracted text of each script is sent to our AI model provider (Doubao via Zenmux) for criteria analysis, together with the unit's grading criteria. Doubao via Zenmux's privacy policy applies to data sent to their API. We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell your data. Account data is stored in a Turso (SQLite) database hosted in the EU. Uploaded files are kept in S3-compatible object storage (Tigris); verification logs and flag decisions are retained for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, all associated data — files, extracted text and records — is deleted within 30 days. To request deletion at any time, email privacy@checkb.tech.

checkb.tech uses the following third parties: • Tigris — S3-compatible object storage for uploaded files. • Doubao via Zenmux — AI model API for criteria analysis of extracted script text. Doubao via Zenmux's privacy policy applies to data sent to their API. • Turso — database hosting. Data is stored in the EU. • Kinde — account authentication (your name and email). • Vercel — application hosting. Vercel's privacy policy applies to request logs. • Dodo Payments — subscription billing. Payment details are held by Dodo, never by us. • PostHog — product analytics on page and feature usage. • Sentry — application error monitoring and diagnostic logs. We do not use advertising or social media pixels.

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to: • Access the personal data we hold about you • Correct inaccurate data • Request deletion of your data • Object to processing • Data portability To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@checkb.tech. We will respond within 30 days.

checkb.tech uses session cookies required for authentication, plus cookies set by our product analytics provider (PostHog). We do not use advertising cookies or social media pixels.
