checkb.tech is a specialized coursework management and internal verification support workspace built for Pearson BTEC International centres, assessors, and Internal Verifiers (IVs). CRITICAL ASSESSMENT DISCLAIMER: checkb.tech is strictly an assistive tool designed to accelerate criteria referencing and portfolio tracking. It NEVER awards grades, makes binding assessment judgements, or replaces human professional expertise. The qualified registered assessor and Internal Verifier remain 100% responsible for reviewing all criteria evidence references and verifying every grade decision prior to external Pearson Standards Verification (SV).

Under the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR, the Educational Institution (or individual educator) is always the Data Controller: • Solo & Individual Assessor Accounts: Operate under data minimization. We strongly advise and provide workflows for submitting work identified only by candidate identifiers or initials. Original uploaded files are processed ephemerally. • Centre & School Partnership Accounts: Governed by our Data Processing Agreement (incorporated into institutional agreements). checkb.tech acts strictly as a Data Processor on the centre's documented instructions to maintain verification audit trails and portfolio oversight across cohorts.

By accessing checkb.tech, you agree to: • Use the platform exclusively for legitimate educational assessment and BTEC internal verification activity. • Upload only coursework materials that you are duly authorized to process as part of your centre role. • STRICT PROHIBITION: You must NOT upload or include Special Category Data — such as student medical records, biometric data, safeguarding logs, SEN psychological evaluations, or disciplinary notes — anywhere within coursework uploads or notes fields. • Ensure that submissions are reviewed by an assessor before student feedback or moderation records are signed off.

checkb.tech uses advanced criteria analysis models to extract text from coursework and map it to Pearson specification descriptors. While engineered for deterministic consistency across cohorts: • AI outputs and criteria flags are advisory pointers to student evidence, not infallible statements of fact. • The system does not guarantee that every criteria deficiency will be captured, or that all evidence citations are exhaustive. • Assessors must verify flagged evidence locations directly in the script before finalizing marks.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: • checkb.tech, its operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of accreditation, inspection findings, grade disputes, or academic outcomes resulting from reliance on the platform. • TOTAL LIABILITY CAP: In no event shall checkb.tech's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to your use of the platform exceed the total subscription fees actually paid by you (or your centre) to checkb.tech in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

• Platform Rights: The checkb.tech interface, criteria mapping workflows, code, and design assets remain the exclusive intellectual property of checkb.tech. • Student & Centre Ownership: Student submissions and centre course materials uploaded remain the intellectual property of the student or respective institution. checkb.tech claims zero ownership or licensing rights over uploaded student portfolios. • Nominative Trademark Notice: BTEC is a registered trademark of Pearson Education Limited. checkb.tech is an independent tool and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Pearson Education Limited. Specification references are made solely for nominative identification and educational alignment.

Centre subscriptions grant access for active department assessors and verifiers to evaluate cohort work under standard institutional academic patterns. We reserve the right to suspend accounts where automated scraping, sharing of credentials outside the designated centre, or activity outside legitimate classroom assessment is detected.

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
