What Is Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Construction?

Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Construction introduces learners to areas across the built environment. Pearson identifies content in building services, civil engineering and construction, with units also available in carpentry and joinery, facilities management, plumbing and electrical operations. The combination depends on the qualification size and selected pathway.

Plan for the actual unit mix

Start by confirming the qualification size and the units in its permitted combination. Check the specification for practical requirements, safe working expectations, assessment criteria and whether a unit uses a Pearson Set Assignment. For example, Pearson’s Unit 1 Construction Technology brief covers low-rise structures, sub-structures and superstructures, but that does not mean every unit has the same focus or assessment conditions.

Use current Pearson materials

Pearson lists this as an International-only qualification first taught in September 2022. Check current dates and approved materials on the Construction qualification page and use the linked specification before planning assignments. For other subjects, see the Level 2 directory guide or the Engineering overview.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
