The Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Certificate in Business is a 180 GLH qualification made up of two mandatory 90 GLH units. It introduces learners to the business sector through applied learning and can sit alongside other vocational or general qualifications.

What units do learners take?

Unit 1: Exploring Business90Internal assessment
Unit 2: Research and Plan a Marketing Campaign90Pearson Set Assignment

Both units are mandatory, and learners must achieve a Pass or above in them. The Certificate is equivalent in size to half an International A Level; equivalence describes size, not a guarantee of university admission. These details come from Pearson’s Issue 4 specification; the UK BTEC National Certificate is a separate qualification.

Unit 2’s task is set by Pearson and marked by teachers. Unit 1 is internally assessed through a centre assignment prepared in line with Pearson’s requirements. Read the Level 3 overview and compare the Subsidiary Diploma. Browse Level 3 Business unit criteria as a reference, and confirm requirements in Pearson’s Issue 4 specification.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
