Assessment criteria

Reproduced verbatim from the Pearson specification — the same grid the assignment brief carries. A unit grade is the highest band where all criteria in that band (and every band below it) are met.

Pass

6 criteria
A.P1Describe how full stack programming is used in industry to develop solutions to meet specific identified needs.
A.P2Explain the associated benefits, drawbacks and wider considerations of full stack development.
B.P3Produce a proposal and a set of designs for a full stack solution that meets client requirements.
B.P4Review designs with others to identify and inform improvements.
C.P5Produce a full stack solution to meet identified requirements.
C.P6Test and review a full stack solution to resolve defects.

Merit

3 criteria
A.M1Analyse the benefits, drawbacks and wider considerations of using full stack development to develop solutions to meet specific identified needs. identified client
B.M2Refine the proposal and designs in response to feedback, justifying any changes made. identified client
C.M3Use iterative development processes to produce a full stack solution that makes effective use of front-end and back-end processes to meet identified requirements.

Distinction

2 criteria
A.D1Evaluate the impact of using full stack development to develop solutions to meet specific identified needs.
BC.D2Evaluate the design and development of a refined full stack solution against identified requirements.

Command verbs in this unit

The verb decides the depth expected — that is what separates Pass from Merit and Distinction work on the same learning aim.

EvaluateDescribeExplainAnalyseProduceReviewRefineTestUse
Pearson's ladder runs Identify → Describe → Explain → Compare / Analyse → Evaluate / Justify / Assess. A Merit or Distinction criterion on the same aim always implies the Pass beneath it: an “evaluate” answer that never first “explains” fails, however polished it reads. Hover a verb for what it demands.

Learning aims

  • A. Explore tools and technologies for full stack development
  • B. Design a full stack solution for an identified client
  • C. Develop a full stack solution for an identified client

How checkb.tech checks this unit

Upload a learner's submission and checkb.tech reads it against exactly these criteria, reporting each one as met, partly met, or not met — with the evidence that informed the verdict cited, so every call is auditable.

The check runs against the official Pearson documents for this unit, and identical evidence always produces an identical result — the same script gets the same verdict every time.

It never awards a grade. You stay the assessor: confirm, dismiss, or act on every criterion before your assessment decision is final.
