Learners investigate a range of project management principles and methodologies and undertake the management of a ‘live’ or ‘simulated’ IT project from start to finish.

Assessment criteria

Reproduced verbatim from the Pearson specification — the same grid the assignment brief carries. A unit grade is the highest band where all criteria in that band (and every band below it) are met.

Pass

9 criteria

A.P1Explain, using appropriate definitions, the characteristics of different methodologies applied in IT projects.

A.P2Explain the project management structures applied in different IT projects.

B.P3Research with some inconsistencies an IT problem, based on a given theme and scope out at least two alternative solutions.

B.P4Prepare with some inconsistencies a feasibility study on an IT project and select a preferred solution.

C.P5Plan with some inconsistencies and/or omissions the implementation of an IT project.
