How are Creative Media BTEC assignments assessed?

Assessors judge a learner's evidence against the criteria for the relevant Creative Media unit. Read the full criterion and assignment brief, then decide whether the evidence is present and sufficiently comprehensive. A finished media product alone may not show every required skill or explain the decisions made during production.

Use the unit's Essential information for assessment decisions to understand the expected standard, alongside its assessment criteria and Pearson guidance. Record the decision and identify where the evidence supports it. Internal verification checks that decisions are valid and consistent across the centre.

The exact evidence depends on the unit and task: it could include a media product, research, planning, production records or a presentation. Do not replace a unit's requirements with a generic checklist. See Pearson's Creative Media specification, the assessment overview and the internal verification guide.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
