How is Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Creative Media assessed?

All Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Creative Media units are internally assessed. Teachers assess learner work against the unit criteria. The assignment may be set by Pearson or by the centre, depending on the unit.

  • Mandatory units: use Pearson Set Assignments (PSAs). Pearson sets the brief; teachers mark the work.
  • Optional units: teachers set assignments that follow Pearson's unit requirements and assessment guidance.

Internal assessment does not mean that centres can choose a different assignment for a PSA unit. Learners must take the authorised Pearson assignment for those units. The centre also plans internal verification of briefs and assessment decisions. Pearson's specification identifies the assessment method in each unit.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
