Unit choices for Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Business depend on the qualification size. Pearson's specification gives a separate structure for each size. Teachers should use that structure to plan a course, then check the current assessment materials for each chosen unit.

A practical order for planning units

  1. Confirm the full qualification title on the learner's or centre's records.
  2. Open the matching Award, Certificate, Extended Certificate or Diploma table in Pearson's specification.
  3. List every mandatory unit first.
  4. Choose the required number of optional units from the options shown for that size.
  5. Check each unit's GLH and assessment method before setting dates or issuing assignments.
  6. Record the final unit combination through your centre's normal process.

Do not assume that a unit in the overall Business list is available for every qualification size. The structure table shows which units count towards each size and whether they are mandatory or optional.

Compare the unit options

Read how mandatory and optional units work and how many units each size needs. The Level 2 Business unit pages let you explore units and their criteria; Pearson's structure confirms which ones count for the learner's qualification.

For the formal rules, use the Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Business specification.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
