There is no single unit count for Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Business. The Certificate has two units, the Extended Diploma has 15, and three middle sizes require a minimum unit count because optional units have different GLH values.

Unit count by size

QualificationGLHUnitsMandatory
Certificate18022
Subsidiary Diploma360At least 42
Foundation Diploma510At least 64
Diploma720At least 95
Extended Diploma1080156

Units are 60, 90 or 120 GLH. A minimum unit count alone does not show which choices meet the total: the Subsidiary Diploma needs optional units totalling at least 180 GLH; the Foundation Diploma needs at least 120 GLH.

Units 1, Exploring Business, and 2, Research and Plan a Marketing Campaign, are mandatory across all five sizes. Larger qualifications add required units. Pearson’s structure tables show required selections, permitted options and assessment methods. Browse CheckB’s Level 3 Business unit pages for criteria, but use Pearson’s Issue 4 specification to confirm what counts. Also read the overview and the GLH guide.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
