A Pearson Set Assignment (PSA) is an assessment brief set by Pearson for a named unit. In BTEC International Level 2 Creative Media, the mandatory units use PSAs. Pearson sets the assignment and the teacher assesses the learner's work against the unit criteria.

For Creative Media, Unit 1 uses a PSA in all three qualification sizes. Unit 12, Creative Media Production Project, is also a PSA unit and is mandatory for the Extended Certificate. The specification marks these assessment arrangements in the qualification structure and unit details.

A PSA is still internally assessed; the centre must use the authorised assignment and follow any unit-specific conditions. Check Pearson's specification before scheduling it. For the related process, read about internal assessment and assignments for optional units.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
