BTEC International Level 3 Marketing

Unit 22: Unit 22 — assessment criteria

BTEC International Level 3 Unit 22 (Unit 22) — 60 Guided Learning Hours.

Internal / Optional60 GLH12 criteria

Assessment criteria

Reproduced verbatim from the Pearson specification — the same grid the assignment brief carries. A unit grade is the highest band where all criteria in that band (and every band below it) are met.

Pass

6 criteria
A.P1Explain the skills and behaviours required for different job roles and responsibilities in marketing in relation to work.
A.P2Develop basic materials for applying for work experience in marketing.
B.P3Describe the role undertaken within the organisation structure and negotiate set objectives to meet the needs of the employer.
B.P4Demonstrate appropriate marketing and professional skills in order to meet set employer objectives.
C.P5Review own strengths and areas for development during work experience in marketing.
C.P6Identify improvements to be made to own personal and professional skills in response to feedback from work experience in marketing.

Merit

3 criteria
A.M1Develop effective materials through detailed assessment of work experience roles, responsibilities, requirements and professional skills and behaviours for work experience in marketing.
B.M2Demonstrate effective marketing and professional skills in order to meet set employer objectives.
C.M3Assess own performance during work experience in marketing, making recommendations for personal and professional development.

Distinction

3 criteria
A.D1Develop comprehensive materials through strategically aligning marketing organisation requirements with personal skills and behaviours.
B.D2Perform role and responsibilities confidently, adapting to changing circumstances.
C.D3Evaluate the marketing and professional skills used to complete work experience, drawing reasoned conclusions as to how it can support own future career.

Command verbs in this unit

The verb decides the depth expected — that is what separates Pass from Merit and Distinction work on the same learning aim.

ExplainDevelopDescribeDemonstrateReviewIdentifyAssessPerformEvaluate
Pearson's ladder runs Identify → Describe → Explain → Compare / Analyse → Evaluate / Justify / Assess. A Merit or Distinction criterion on the same aim always implies the Pass beneath it: an “evaluate” answer that never first “explains” fails, however polished it reads. Hover a verb for what it demands.

How checkb.tech checks this unit

Upload a learner's submission and checkb.tech reads it against exactly these criteria, reporting each one as met, partly met, or not met — with the evidence that informed the verdict cited, so every call is auditable.

The check runs against the official Pearson documents for this unit, and identical evidence always produces an identical result — the same script gets the same verdict every time.

It never awards a grade. You stay the assessor: confirm, dismiss, or act on every criterion before your assessment decision is final.
