BTEC International Level 3 Unit 8 (Brand Management) — 90 Guided Learning Hours.

Mandatory (Pearson-set)90 GLH11 criteria3 learning aims

Assessment criteria

Reproduced verbatim from the Pearson specification — the same grid the assignment brief carries. A unit grade is the highest band where all criteria in that band (and every band below it) are met.

A.P1Explain CSR issues for selected organisations and their stakeholders.
A.P2Explain CSR initiatives undertaken for the selected organisations.
B.P3Explain potential benefits to a selected organisation of undertaking CSR initiatives.
B.P4Explain potential limitations to a selected organisation of undertaking CSR initiatives.
C.P5Plan a basic CSR initiative in response to a given brief that addresses issues faced by a selected organisation.

Merit

3 criteria
A.M1Assess the impact of CSR issues on selected organisations.
B.M2Assess potential benefits and limitations to a selected organisation of undertaking CSR initiatives.
C.M3Plan a comprehensive CSR initiative that fully addresses a given brief and the issues faced by a selected organisation.

Distinction

3 criteria
A.D1Evaluate how effectively a selected organisation has responded to CSR issues and whether this response has strengthened its CSR image.
B.D2Evaluate the competitive advantage gained by a selected organisation as a result of its CSR initiatives.
C.D3Justify the potential impact to the stakeholders of the CSR initiative for a selected organisation.

Command verbs in this unit

The verb decides the depth expected — that is what separates Pass from Merit and Distinction work on the same learning aim.

ExplainPlanAssessEvaluateJustify
Pearson's ladder runs Identify → Describe → Explain → Compare / Analyse → Evaluate / Justify / Assess. A Merit or Distinction criterion on the same aim always implies the Pass beneath it: an “evaluate” answer that never first “explains” fails, however polished it reads. Hover a verb for what it demands.

Learning aims

  • A. Explore the CSR issues, initiatives and impacts facing organisations
  • B. Explore benefits and limitations for an organisation of implementing
  • C. Plan a CSR initiative for an organisation to address selected issues

How checkb.tech checks this unit

Upload a learner's submission and checkb.tech reads it against exactly these criteria, reporting each one as met, partly met, or not met — with the evidence that informed the verdict cited, so every call is auditable.

The check runs against the official Pearson documents for this unit, and identical evidence always produces an identical result — the same script gets the same verdict every time.

It never awards a grade. You stay the assessor: confirm, dismiss, or act on every criterion before your assessment decision is final.
