The Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business is a 1080 GLH qualification made up of 15 units. Six are mandatory and learners complete nine optional units. Pearson describes it as a two-year, full-time course for progression to Business employment or higher education.
Six mandatory units

|---|---|---|
| 1 Exploring Business | 90 | Internal |
| 2 Research and Plan a Marketing Campaign | 90 | Pearson Set Assignment |
| 3 Business Finance | 90 | Internal |
| 4 Managing an Event | 90 | Internal |

Learners must pass the mandatory units and complete the specified nine optional units. Use Pearson’s structure to confirm permitted choices and combined hours. The size is equivalent to three International A Levels; this does not determine university entry.
All units are internally assessed, but three mandatory units use Pearson Set Assignments. Pearson sets these tasks and centre teachers mark the work; optional units use centre assignments. Read the assessment overview and the PSA guide. Compare the Diploma and start at the overview. Pearson’s Issue 4 specification is the formal source.
