The Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Creative Media is a 240 guided learning hour (GLH) course made up of four 60 GLH units. It suits learners who want to study Creative Media alongside another subject and develop a broader base of knowledge and practical skills.

Unit 1, Research, Develop and Propose Ideas for a Digital Media Product, is mandatory and assessed through a Pearson Set Assignment. Learners also choose three optional units from those allowed by the specification. Options include specialisms such as digital video, audio podcast, photography, animation, web, advertising and digital games production.

All units are internally assessed. Teachers mark the Pearson Set Assignment; optional unit assignments are set by the centre. Check Pearson's Issue 1 specification for permitted unit combinations. Start with the course overview, then read about unit choices, GLH and assessment. You can also compare the smaller Award and larger Extended Certificate.

Check the criteria before the IV does.

checkb.tech reads learner evidence against the official Pearson criteria and reports every criterion as met, partly met or not met — with the evidence cited. It never awards a grade; the teacher stays the assessor.
